Gene Kogan (born 1985, resides in the US) is an artist, programmer, and educator whose work focuses on generative art, swarm intelligence, automation systems, and computer science. He is dedicated to exploring and researching generative systems, computer science, and software for creativity and self-expression. He is a partner in numerous open-source software projects and has participated in many conferences and lectures on the intersection of code and art. Kogan believes that machine learning provides a method for studying consciousness and cognition, through building models from big data to collect human experiences and perceptions, and offers a way to address some of the most mysterious questions science has yet to solve. Kogan's work has been exhibited at several important institutions globally, including the Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Seoul Museum of Art in South Korea, the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, Poland, and the QUT Art Museum in Queensland, Australia.
